Acupuncture
Initial Treatment: 85 minutes-$125
Follow Up Treatments: 55 minutes- $75
Acupuncture is the insertion of extremely thin sterile needles at specific points on the body to stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Acupuncture is just one facet of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a health care system that includes the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illness and injury.
While some people can get an amazing effect after just one treatment, acupuncture works best as a series of treatments.
An appointment always begins with us sitting down to talk about what you would like treated. Your first appointment is longer as we will go over your health history and speak in depth about your symptoms.
The initial intake provides time for you to tell me about your concerns. Prepare to be asked many questions about the main issues you’re seeking treatment for. You’ll also be asked general health questions from sleep habits to bowel movements to stress levels. All these questions help to come up with a diagnosis, what points i’ll needle, and the plan for your treatment. You will receive a full acupuncture treatment after our intake at the time of the appointment.
At follow up appointments, we sit down to chat about your symptoms- how you responded to your last treatment, any changes to your symptoms, and if there is anything new that we need to address. You will then get a full acupuncture treatment.

While each person is unique in how they may respond to this therapy, there are some general guidelines we can use to estimate the length of treatment.
If your issue is new or acute, we can see results within 4-6 treatments.
For moderate chronic issues, expect 10-12 sessions.
For very chronic, severe issues it could take up to 20 sessions for your symptoms to resolve.
Generally, people will begin to feel some change within the first three treatments. If you are able to incorporate lifestyle changes or take herbs alongside acupuncture treatment, that can help speed up the process.
At your first appointment I will give you an estimate of how many treatments I think you would benefit from based on your symptoms.

Dry needling is the insertion of an acupuncture needle into a muscle knot, or trigger point.
Acupuncturists receive training in needling trigger points and can help release tight muscle groups. Compared to other forms of therapy that needle trigger points, you may rest for longer with the needles in and find that acupuncture is less painful than other practitioners who offer dry needling.
Herbal Consultations
Initial Consultation: 55 minutes- $75
Follow Ups: $25 each 20 minutes plus cost of herbs
Herbs are especially useful for issues like hormonal imbalance, mental health, digestive issues and more. Taking herbs every day means you can have consistent relief and be doing something to transform your health every day.
There are herbs that you can also use on the skin to help with things like healing from injuries and sore muscles.
You can try herbal therapy on its own to help your symptoms, or you can use them to help potentiate other self-care you may be doing.
At a consultation, we will talk about what you want treated and go over a detailed health history to ensure we get the correct diagnosis and remedy for you.
After the consultation, I will write you a prescription for an herbal formula that can be in the form of a tablet, tea, tincture or topical. Most of the time I use the TCM Herbal Pharmacy in Bloomington to fill orders and they are very quick with mailing out orders.
If you need anything changed or new issues come up you can then come in for a follow up appointment. Herbs generally cost anywhere from 25-60$ for a month’s supply, and I can work within your budget when writing your prescription.
Bodywork
Initial and Follow-up Appointments: 45 minutes- $60
Acupressure is a form of massage along the pathways that acupuncture points are located on. It’s another way to stimulate acupuncture points, promoting your body’s natural ability to heal, calming your mind and alleviating stress. The use of tuning forks is another option for stimulating acupuncture points without the use of needles.
I also offer gua sha, a form of bodywork that involves scraping over the adhesions and tight muscles that are causing pain. Many people like getting their neck and back treated with this.
At your appointment, we begin with a chat about what you would like treated and your health conditions and then start with treatment. Similar to acupuncture, you may remain fully clothed and pull up clothing to access certain areas, or a gown and sheets will be provided to access other areas such as your back.
